LPGA Qualifying School II Volunteers Needed

For the 37th year Plantation Golf and Country Club will be the host site of the LPGA Qualifying School II and we need volunteers to help put on the event. The dates are Tuesday, October 15 through Friday, October 18, 2024. If necessary, the rain date will be Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Margaret Weiss, along with assistant Joan Nash, will organize the volunteers again this year.

We need a lot of volunteers to help staff the event. We prefer that you volunteer for a minimum of two (2) days however more days would be preferable. Job descriptions are listed below. Please read them carefully and make your selection on page 2.

The LPGA will hold a meeting on Monday, October 14 at 2:00 P.M. in the main dining room to explain the various duties and answer any questions. We will also be at the meeting.

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Cart Driver/Score Reporting: (One per cart) Responsibilities include, driving the cart for a group, keeping an unofficial score for each player in the group and transmitting results after each hole to recorder. You will be used as part of an evacuation plan (if needed). This job requires a 6-HOUR commitment per day.

Radio Room: Accept phone reporting of scores from cart drivers; enter scores into the computer for real time scoring.

Spotter/Evacuation Driver:
Assist players in locating lost balls. In the event of inclement weather, help evacuate players/caddies.

Starter and Assistant:
Announce players on #1 & #10 tees, responsible for gallery control, and assist players as needed.

Scoring Tent:
Verify final scores of players (readd) and give to Score Runner.

Score Runner:
Take players’ official score cards from the scoring tent and drive them to the LPGA tournament office.

Player Shuttle:
Transport players/caddies on Panther Course from hole #2 to #3 or hole #15 to #16.

Volunteer Check-In:
Check in volunteers every day.

Parking Lot Attendant:
Control access to main parking lot (parking pass required) and assist in parking cars at the Tennis courts.

Shuttle Drivers:
Shuttle volunteers from the tennis parking lot to the registration center at the club house and back.

Crossing Guard:
Stationed at each side of Rockley at the light to assist anyone crossing the street.

Stand–By: Be available to fill in for any position as needed for 4 4-hour shift maximum.
