Frequently Asked Questions

When was your Club established?

Plantation Golf & Country Club was founded in 1980.

I don’t live in Plantation. Can I use the Club facilities?

Residency in Plantation is not a requirement of Membership.

Is membership required to use the Plantation facilities?

We are a Member-owned, private, equity Club.  You must be a Member, or a guest of a Member, to enjoy the Club’s facilities.

What are the benefits of Membership at Plantation?

Because we are Member-owned, the Club is operated in accordance with the wishes of the Membership. Our Members have a controlling interest in the formation of the rules & regulations of the Club, which enhances the Club experience through increased participation by the Member-owners.

Why should I join Plantation versus other private Clubs in the area?

Although there are many things that set us apart from other private Clubs, three things truly differentiate Plantation from other area Clubs:

  1. Our warm and friendly Members.  When you become a Member at Plantation, you will truly feel like you have become part of a big family.  Our Members will welcome you with open arms. They realize it can be difficult to meet new people and make new friends, and they want you to feel comfortable right from the start.  They want you to enjoy your Membership at Plantation as much as they do.
  2. The quality of our facilities and the professionalism of our staff, coupled with our comparatively low equity contribution and annual dues makes Plantation Golf & Country Club the areas’ BEST Private Country Club.
  3. Our Club's leadership has a proven track record of delivering a first rate club at the best value in the area.  We have been able to operate and maintain our facilities for considerably less than other comparable Clubs.  We are proud of our sound management, high participation in club events, and extremely strong social programs that have enabled our Membership to accomplish this.

What types of membership does Plantation offer?

We offer family and single memberships in four categories: Full which includes unlimited golf & tennis; Sport/Fitness which includes unlimited tennis; and Social which includes limited golf & tennis privileges.  All memberships include unlimited use of the heated, junior-Olympic swimming pool, fitness center, Clubhouse facilities and dining privileges.

What can you tell me about the golf courses?

Our Ron Garl designed, 36-holes of championship golf, feature two distinctively different layouts, providing challenging play and a rewarding golf experience at every level. Impeccably maintained year-round, Plantation’s courses continuously attract those who demand the finest playing conditions. We are proud to be the home of the LPGA's Annual Tour Qualifier for the past 28 years.

Both the Bobcat and the Panther courses have undergone recent renovations that include state-of-the-art irrigation systems and complete new bunker designs by notable New York architect Stephen Kay.  Thanks to our enthusiastic Membership, Plantation enjoys one of the most active groups of golf associations in the area. In addition to regularly scheduled men’s and ladies’ play, members may participate in a variety of fun-filled special events. Our award-winning PGA and LPGA staff professionals complete our reputation for the highest standards of excellence.

Will I have a problem getting tee times?

Our golf Membership is limited to 680 Members.  Scheduling golf times is not a problem when booked with eight days advance tee time booking and two golf courses.

How many tennis courts does Plantation have?

Our Racquet Club features 13 Har-Tru tennis courts, with 5 of them lighted for night play.  Court reservations can be made up to 3 days in advance.

Is there a swimming pool?

Plantation has a six-lane, heated, junior-Olympic size swimming pool, as well as a 10-person spa.

Do you offer golf & tennis instructional programs?

There are three Class A PGA golf professionals on our staff, as well as a Class A LPGA professional.  Individual and group instruction for all skill levels is available.  Tennis instruction is available from our USPTA teaching professional.

I am a competitive tennis player. Does the Club have what I need?

Plantation has an extremely active tennis Membership.  Ladies and men compete at their respective levels of 2.5 to 4.5.  There are active weekly leagues, junior tennis programs and other member activities, including night play.  Tournaments and exhibitions at Plantation provide fun and competition for more advanced players.  Pairings can be arranged.

What merchandise do the golf and tennis pro shops carry?

The fully stocked pro shops offer the latest equipment, apparel and accessories, as well as stringing services in the tennis pro shop, and practice equipment.

What Member facilities are in the Clubhouse?

In our beautiful 25,000 square foot Clubhouse, you can relax in the Members’ Sunset Lounge, enjoy superb dining in our spacious Grill Room, and in-between the front nine and the back nine revive yourself with light fare on the Terrace Patio. You’ll also find the Manor Dining Room and the private dining room for those special occasions, as well as the kitchen and Administrative offices.

Tell me about the Club’s social activities.

Plantation Members enjoy a very active social calendar, both during season, as well as in the off-season.  You can attend such events as Trivia Night, Lobster Night, as well as our Interactive Dinner 'Cooking with the Chef', Seafood Buffet, Bocce Ball and Bridge, to name a few.  There’s something for everyone to enjoy, and loads of opportunities for you to meet and make new friends.

Can Members reserve the Club for private parties or functions?

The Club has several rooms available for hosting parties, and each is available by reservation.  Are you planning a wedding?  Or, maybe you’re organizing a business meeting, birthday or anniversary party, or a private dinner.  Our highly qualified Catering Director can assist you with planning your event, from floral and room arrangements, to decorations and the menu.  You will be proud you held your event at Plantation.

Is there a food or beverage minimum or a service charge required?

Plantation is pleased to say that we do NOT charge a food or beverage minimum, or a service charge to our Members.  Because our Members take full advantage of their membership by attending numerous social activities and our dining facilities, we do not have to charge minimums.

How do you help new Members make friends?

In addition to the many social functions our Members and their guests may attend, we host many special events including breakfasts, luncheons, golf events such as Nine and Dine Mixers and Tennis Mixers and new Member Cocktail Receptions.
